The Cycle Solution: How We’re Empowering Women to Take Control of Their Hormones

At The Cycle Solution, we want to get one thing straight: it’s not your fault. Fatigue, sugar cravings, weight gain, PMS, mood swings, hair loss, depression, anxiety, and countless other symptoms — in many cases, these symptoms are the byproduct of a hormonal imbalance. It’s not always that you don’t eat good foods or get enough exercise or sleep. It’s not something you can solve with vitamins and supplements.

Here’s the thing: they don’t teach you about hormone imbalances in school. Your OB-GYN is probably not talking to you about hormones, either. At least, not in the sense of understanding how they work and how you can keep them healthy. Most women have not had the level of functional health education they need to make better decisions. And now, we’re trying to flip the script.

Here’s how we’re empowering women to take control of their hormones naturally:

Having Informed Conversations with Your Doctor

When I was diagnosed with endometriosis, I went through a merry-go-round of doctors. Nothing worked for me. I felt isolated and confused. But I realized much later that had I known what questions to ask instead of simply accepting what I was being told, I may have gotten an ideal outcome much sooner.

But the reality is that empowering conversations are rarely happening in the examining room. The Cycle Solution seeks to change this by helping you learn how your body works so you can start asking the right questions.

For example, instead of getting a prescription for birth control and asking about the side effects, you can instead ask how you can combat the side effects.

I’ve learned that many women have trouble speaking up to their doctors. They don’t want to question someone in authority because they don’t want to come off as pushy or being a know-it-all. They want to trust the expert. But you need to be an active participant in your health, too.

Making Better Decisions for Your Health

Health is holistic. When there’s a problem, it can manifest in a variety of ways. This is why it’s not enough to simply treat the symptoms. This doesn’t make the real problem disappear.

I fully believe in the power of why. You may already know you’ve got an issue, whether it’s headaches, insomnia, or what have you. But when you know the why behind those issues, you’re in a much better position to take the right steps toward a resolution.

The Cycle Solution: Empowerment Through Education

You don’t have to be an OB-GYN or health expert to know how your body works. Having gone through endometriosis and some of the worst symptoms of a hormonal imbalance myself, I believe that knowledge is power. That’s why I created The Cycle Solution, because when women are informed about how their bodies work beyond a surface-level understanding, it can lead to better outcomes.
